Flying By

Hmm, Lent has arrived seemingly without warning.  The fact that it is mid Feb is overwhelming.  My new job has been full on.  After 4 years in my comfort zone, I am so far out of it now that it isn’t funny!  This week I have slept for 3 nights running which feels miraculous and demonstrates the stress that I am experiencing.  On one hand this is a learning curve and I knew it would be tough for at least 9 months, on the other hand at 2 months in I am led to considering whether this is worth it.  I’ll leave that thought there for now.  James’ work continues to consume him and there are highs and lows for him as well.

 

Outside work, I have change Swim School to the awesome DGSS where a number of friends also swim.  The downside is the 6am start the upsides are that I am done by 7am and the teaching is awesome.  I am also being diligent in the exercise arena with a renewed commitment to the gym and yoga.  To some extent this is to physically tyre me out, but it is also about all the other good things that come with this, and I am enjoying it all.

 

Other exciting New Year events have included time with James’ parents (in Auckland and Kohukohu), visit from my cousin Alex and friends Peter & Liz, much progress on the house extension – including funky new chairs, and a 40^th Birthday party at Artisan for Ang.

 

So life continues apace, I feel like it will be Christmas again before I know it – which is too scary.
